Karen Freedman

Visiting Instructor at R&F in Kingston, NY

Karen Freedman is recognized for her vibrant abstract geometric paintings that explore the interaction of color and its ability to alter perception. She combines that with her career-long fascination with patterns and attention to detail. Karen began her formal training studying jewelry design at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia. She then went on to build a successful graphic design business followed by her immersion in the fine arts.

Karen has exhibited both locally and nationally at venues that include Endicott College, Hunterdon Art Museum and the Cape Cod Museum of Art. Her work was recently acquired for the permanent collection of the historically certified Park Towne Place Apartments in Philadelphia. Her work is also featured in the books Encaustic With a Textile Sensibility by Daniella Woolf, and Encaustic Art in the Twenty-First Century by Anne Lee & E. Ashley Rooney.
